Spending a fortune on healthy food then throwing it away?
Don’t you just hate it when the weekly/monthly shopping trip comes around and you’re in a healthy mood buying all this fresh fruit and vegetables with intention to eat them to start your healthy eating routine along with the exercise you plan on starting? Then two weeks later you’re picking mouldy fruit and vegetables out of the fridge as no one ate them and you’re wondering why?
The reason why is simple, we all live by routine and unless you force yourself to include fruit and vegetables into your routine you wont realise what your doing most of the time when it comes to snacks etc. However there are ways to sneak these in to your daily routine.
For example when you go to your fridge you normally go for the same thing, right? Well put the fruit in that place instead of at the back where you don’t even notice its there, this will remind you that it’s there to be eaten and wont be there for long. By getting healthy food into your daily routine will make it a lot easier in future to want it subconsciously and when you’re ready for a snack you will think of the fruit you recently bought instead of that chocolate bar you have.
Once a habit is created it will require hardly any will power as the human brain works on routine, it would be easier if you ate fruit at specific times of the day, for example if you have a banana in the morning the more days you do this it will become habit therefore run itself.
Basically what were saying is, put the effort and will power in at the beginning then once you have established the routine to eating healthy food as snacks or meals you will run on auto pilot and the next time it comes to having a snack you’ll grab that piece of fruit out.
