Healthy Eating = Healthy Body?

There are a few common mistakes people make once they have reached their desired weight, most people begin to let it slip but what they don’t know – they have to keep maintaining their body (i.e. consuming less or equal calories to what they are burning off) or they will go back to the first stage of trying to loose weight.

Here are a few tips on how to avoid piling the weight back on after reaching target. First off consume less sugar as excess sugar will be stored as fat in your body. By including vegetables into your diet will in create the amount of calories you burn off as they are full of fibre, so you feel fuller then you are, making you eat less but often.

When you fancy a snack, don’t pick up that chocolate bar or bag of crisps, snack on something healthy such as nuts, raisins, dried fruits and vegetables. Most people go wrong in the fact they starve themselves thinking not eating = loose weight where as in fact you will gain weight because when your hungry your body will burn off muscle which leads to creating the body to put aside more fat to make sure it lasts. So one of the main pointers I can give you is to eat little and often to keep your metabolic rate going and burning calories instead of muscles.

By eating more protein will increase the growth of muscles which makes the body burn more calories (fat) and will also prevent you from muscle loss if you decide to go on a diet. Another good product which will help you burn more calories is yoghurt, its been proven that as little as three servings a day of yoghurt will increase the rate you loose weight by up to 22% more. However you will have to look into the ingredients and make sure you buy yoghurts with no added sugar and have real fruit if possible.
