Modern life and our nutrition
Modern life now is signed with huge pressures on our shoulder, with or without realizing that. This is true especially in modern, metropolitan or even megapolitan cities. However, life was less sophisticated, particularly outside the cities, back to years or even decades ago. Television was still rare, no home delivery services or menus that will come straight in front of your door within minutes. And yet, despite of this sort of primitive life, there was time for leisure and relax. And this is no longer true today, and the pace of life is such that it becomes one factor in the development of nutritional problems.
In one or more cases, in the field of nutrition and weight loss, you most probably first visit the doctor for help.Their therapy is long and time consuming and arduous. Once a doctor has qualified, he or she will be gaining new experience and confidence. There is new learning emerging, so the doctor is constantly able to update and study the new discoveries and nutrition. When it comes to weight loss, the family doctor is the obvious person to call on for advice, right?
Well, actual answer is NO. Nutrition field is the only one that not even a doctor qualifies to judge your nutrition status. After years of diets, you are the one who know more your body than your family doctor. There used to be six weeks of non-compulsory nutritional lecture in the years of medical training and today in most medical schools, there is none. You study nutrition as an aspect of human biology at school and this will suffice.
As for up to date your doctor has for nutrition information, you have to use common sense. You all your own activities, go for work, go home, you leave work behind. Do you imagine that a doctor closes his office door and goes home, tired, to break open the books and study all through night? Is the doctor any different to you? Doesn’t she/he have famility and a life outside work too?
The fact is, the doctor does not have time to be nutritional expert, and definitely he/she has not been trained for this role. Most doctors pick up their knowledge along the way, reading the same information as you do, guessing a little here and there, muddling through. Would you entrust your nutritional well-being to someone who knows less than you? Not so wist, is it?
So, save your money.. be wise and adjust your own nutrition. It is your own body!
