Daily Calories your body needs
How many calories everyday your body needs? That would be another thing you should consider to control your weight. After you know what your ideal body weight should be, next thing is to consider your acitivities. These have to be taken into account to measure calories your body need for daily life.
If your activities are not energy-consuming, totally inactive, no exercise, then just multiply your calculated ideal weight by 11. If you get routine exercise two or three times a week, multiply your weight by 13. If you exercise more than that, say, four to five times a week, multiply your ideal weight by 15. The last, if you have exercise six to seven times a week, multiply your calculated ideal weight by 18.
Let us use example ideal weight for men from previous example, which is 80 pounds. If you have regular exercise 6-7 times a week, then you should multiply your ideal weight by 18. That would make 1440 cal/day. Easy, isn’t it?
Review burn calories perday
Now let us review, starting to measure ideal weight. You should already know by now your ideal weight and how many calories you need each day, thus you can easily figure out how much fat you can eat. Most diet scientists recommend you to not exceeding daily intake of fat 30 percent of your total calories. If you have history of heart disease or cancer, you may consider for 20 percent of your total calories.
Suppose Lana is a 5 foot and 6 inch woman with medium frame, her ideal weight is 130 pounds. She is trying to lose weight so she needs to keep her fat calories down to approximately 20 percent.
Lana is exercising four to five times a week, so we multiply 130 pounds with 15. Now we know that Lana needs 1,950 calories each day. If we take only 20 percent of 1,950 we get 390. Next, convert fat calories into fat grams, this will be extremely useful for you to read food labels. One gram of fat equals 9 calories. So if we divide 390 by 9, we know that Lana can eat 47 grams of fat perday.
